Senior Mechanical Quantity Surveyor

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Mechanical Quantity Surveyor with AirconMech, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Review tender submissions with the tendering department and oversee the handover to the project management team.
  • Participate in pre-contract negotiations, including the review of contract documentation.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of work practices to identify potential cost-saving measures.
  • Quantify material, plant, and labour requirements for projects.
  • Analyse subcontractor quotations, verifying inclusions and exclusions.
  • Negotiate prices with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Issue tender queries and prepare tender reports.
  • Source and organise pre-project information.
  • Prepare detailed cost reports and estimates.
  • Review monthly payment applications in collaboration with the project management team.
  • Support project managers in final account negotiations.
  • Monitor project budgets and expenditures against the projected margins.

Eligibility Criteria/ Qualifications and/or Experience

To be considered for this position, candidates should possess the following attributes:

  • Relevant degree or trade background.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in surveying with a main Building Services contractor.
  • Familiarity with tendering, particularly within the HVAC industry, is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of building regulations and legal guidelines is strongly preferred.
  • Analytical mindset with strong negotiation skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to travel to various sites throughout the country as needed.
